Chalom Sayada, M.D., Ph.D. : Co-founder, member of the Board of Directors and Administrateur delegue

Dr. Sayada has previously served as CEO of Sequoia Pharmaceuticals Inc (2004), President and CEO of ActivBiotics (2000-2003), Vice President at Visible Genetics (1998 - 2000), President and CEO of ACT Gene SA, France (1996-1998) which was acquired by Visible Genetics Inc in 1998, and Product and Scientific Manager for Roche Diagnostics (1993-1996).

Dr. Sayada had extensive experience at early, discovery and clinical development stage Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics companies in the United States and in Europe. He has helped raise more than $50M in venture capital financing, completed international in & out licensing agreements and has broad experience in Infectious Diseases, Oncology and Human Genetic Diseases.

Jean Claude Schmit, M.D. : Co-founder, Chief Science and Medical Officer, Director

Dr. Schmit is a specialist in internal medicine and infectious disease trained in Belgium and Switzerland. In 1996 he obtained a PhD degree from the University of Louvain for his work on HIV-1 drug resistance.

He is currently a staff member of the National Service of Infectious Diseases in Luxembourg and the director of the Retrovirology Laboratory at the national public health research institute. He is an adviser for European and international organizations, participates in several European research projects and is a co-founder and an organizing board member of the European HIV Drug Resistance Workshop.

Ronan Boulme :: Vice President of Research and Development

He joined ABL in 2001 and is responsible for product development and all medical informatics at ABL including advanced technology platforms for research, genetic interpretation systems, data management, and economic evaluation.

He is leading ABL's research into new ways of applying clinical and virological information to improve HIV disease management. He has previously developed and introduced information systems for intensive care.

He has contributed to many HIV and related clinical trials including a large scale european trials such as the European Sepsis, Viradapt, PharmAdapt and Havanna protocols. Before working at ABL, he worked for Visible Genetics Europe.
